Erangel map
Erangel is the very first map on PUBG, and it is where most PUBG players started their exciting journey in this game. The countryside town atmosphere of Erangel is perfect for intense gameplay, providing a balance of fiery gunfire and opportunities for stealth.
Map Story
Erangel was developed in early 2016 and fully released in December 2017. The name Erangel was actually inspired by PUBG daughter’s name, Eryn.
Sanhok map
Sanhok map is one of the most thrilling and interesting ones for PUBG players. Released in June 2018 on PC as a third map, next to Erangel and Miramar, it brings more intense firefights and a solid gaming experience.
Sanhok is one of the latest maps of PUBG Mobile, and it is also a small one, only 4×4 big. This means it offers intense combat and quicker action compared to other maps and requires different strategies. Sanhok is actually three “mini-islands” that are divided by two big canals, and its weather is constantly changing. All of these create lots of opportunities for ambushes, so you have to be extra careful in here.
It was released for mobile on September 2018.
Miramar map
Development on this map began in July 2017, PUBG Corp used the official release update (1.0 update) to test Miramar in 3 rounds of testing phases. It later became available later that year on the 12th of December for PC (launch of 1.0) and 24th of May, 2018 for Xbox One [2].
Desert Map Size
Originally, Desert map was intended to have a size of 4 X 4 km, but it ended up being an 8 X 8 km map. It is a city-centric map which also has an open desert plain,
Vikendi map
The gameplay of the winter map is quicker than Erangel and Miramar, but offers an arguably more tactical experience than Sanhok. Vehicles have less traction on snow or icy areas, and acceleration on icy terrain is slow. Footprints and vehicle tracks will appear as players travel in snow-covered areas, and players are able to throw snowballs while waiting to board the plane in the starting area.
Map Story
PUBG Vikendi, the fourth playable snow map, is an isolated Northern resort island on the Adriatic Sea. At 6x6 km in size, it sits in the middle of Erangel and Sanhok. The snowy, festivities-inspired map became available on December 19th, 2018 and January 22nd, 2019 on PC and Xbox One/PS4 respectively.
